Clearing Up The Myths On Wedding Planners?
I am a certified wedding planner of 5 years.
Normally for full wedding planning we charge 10% of the budget.
I have such great relationships with suppliers that I always save the couples so much money through the huge discounts that I get that I more than pay for my fees.
So the couples are spending the same money that they would have been in the first place.
It is the couples with the smallest budgets who should hire a wedding planner because we can strethch their small budgets so much further.
I realize that not all wedding planner are not the same – but some of the people on here really don’t seem to understand the business.
I agree, and for those that say that if you can do it yourself you shouldn’t waste money for someone else to do it I think that’s ridiculous.
I know how to sew, cook, take pictures and drive, but that doesn’t mean that I would want to make my own wedding dress, do all the catering, take my own pictures or drive myself to my wedding.
People go to boutiques to by wedding gowns, caterers to make the food, a photographer to take the photos and limo companies to get them where they have to go.
Wedding planners are only there to help couples create the wedding of their dreams all while trying to take away their stress and saving them money. If people can hire all those vendors and make all those other purchases for their weddings, what’s the big problem with hiring a wedding planner that is only there to help them as much as possible?
