Web Designers / Computer Engineers – How did YouTube or Facebook start?
Hey guys,
Although I am currently a sophomore planning to major in Accounting, it is impossible not to realized how much of an impact websites such as Facebook, YouTube, and PayPal have on not only the internet, but the economy.
I’ve taken very general computer/business courses (excel, access, dreamweaver etc.), and I know that although I have the business mind and ideas for successful internet websites I have nothing close to the advanced technical skills it seems you need to even get started in this spectrum of business.
My question is: Did the founders of Facebook, YouTube etc. design their own websites (all of the extensive data bases invovled)? And if they did, were they all computer engineers, web designers? I mean, just thinking of building a website such as Facebook seems like a large task that no average joe could have been able to do. Did they employ the help of professionals at any point in their start up?
Any knowledge appreciated
Check out this link about Mark Zuckerberg. The story of how he started facebook is great, mainly because he is so young.
