Is it possible to update cell phone whithout changing plan?
My carrier was switched from AT&T to Cingular when AT&T left the cell phone business
Once your contract for your previous service expires you can update to a new phone for a discounted price along with a new contract. A contract will last 1-2 years depending on the phone purchased.
The same is true about changing companies. You must wait for the contract to expire or you are responsible for the full price of the phone. Don’t forget that a phone that you get free or at a discounted price actually cost at least $100 more than you have paid.
