Is it legal for a small business to…?
Alright, I work for a small business in the state of Ohio ( pizza shop ) and they (our boss) have started a new rule that really dosn’t seem right. If somebody ( a worker ) calls in sick and the boss calls you to come and work for them ( even when your not on the schedule ) and you say no three times in a row you get fired. That just dosnt even seem like it could be legal. Getting fired because you have plans when your not scheduled? Is it legal? And if not where can i find that to prove it? Does that seem right to you?
Yes, if you are informed of the rule in advance, you can choose to work under those conditions or not. If you continue to work there, you are bound by the company rules.
Sucks, but they can do that.
