Should I go with a Mac or PC?

I’m about to go off to college and I need to get a computer. I’m not sure which one I should get though. The PC I’m looking at is the tablet one where you can write on the screen. I see that as an advantage because I can take my notes electronically and not have to worry about losing them or not having them if someone needs to borrow them. However, looking at the Mac I see alot of other nice features but I’m a little nervous with a Mac seeing as I’m completely unfamiliar with it. I’m an artistic person and love doing things like Photoshop in my spare time and eventually I plan on running my own business. should I get a Mac and start getting acquainted with it or should I just stick with a PC?

let me just point out that the only people who have answered are mac users! what does that tell you about us?

i don’t see the advantage of going for a tablet pc – if you’re anything like me, you can type a lot faster than you can write on screen. ms word for mac (the student and teacher edition is available at a reduced cost) has a special notes view where it looks like you’re typing on ruled paper and lets you use audio notes as well (you can record with the built-in mic)

i just got my MacBook a month ago and LOVE it!
