Do I need to register as a business and pay VAT, etc. If I created a website layout for MySpace? ?

I'm interested in open layout site MySpace, and I plan to make money through advertising on the website, but I am trying to find out what is happening legally, and should I pay taxes, etc. or register as an independent, does anyone have any information that might help me? Thank you. C:

You have to register as an independent contractor, it seems, you try to make money by selling advertising space. You can do it in HM Revenue and Customs website below. Just like you have to pay taxes on this income or not, it will depend on your other income and tax credits and reliefs available to you, but you have to disclose income on your tax return.
