Business Plan Jamaica

Non-tourist Jamaica?
Planning a trip for the husband and I to go to Jamaica. We’d like to stay in a part of the country that is tourist free, maybe rent a cottage or apartment for the week. I’d like to be able to drive into the larger cities for shopping, but retreat someplace low-key where we can watch the sunset, shop and eat at local, small businesses and generally chill. We’d like to avoid the mega resorts, and have easy access to the whole country as we plan on renting a car. Any ideas?
Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay have several apartments, villas, or furnished houses for a reasonable price. Check out Discovery Bay Apartments across from Puerto Seco Beach, The Police Station is next door, It’s between two tourist areas so you get the best of both worlds.
