Questions about a butcher shop.?

I am 22 years old and my wife and I would like to start a deli/meat shop. I understand that when me and my wife decide to open our little shop that generally for the first 3 years you wont make much for profit. So I plan to save enough money to sell products at a cheap price to build up a clientele then slowly raise the prices but still keep it cheap to where people will want great quality + great price product. I am just wondering what sort licenses I will need, how much money will cost to purchase a retail spot that is a couple thousand square feet, where can I buy beef and poultry from a company like harris ranch, ibp, swift or interstate. I will be a small business to start and I am a meat cutter so I can break a rack of beef. But I wont be buying as much beef as a grocery chain but I would still like a reasonable product. Could youse any help. Thanks.
First contact a supplier. You will still get a decent price on wholesale beef stuff like that. Since you are a butcher you will be able to buy in racks which are the cheapest. Talk to local restaurants and get a steak house or local place and give them good deals. You won’t make much profit but keeps ur buying power up. In food u won’t get rich but volume is key. Quality and quantity. Always be consistent. Check local reatail lease spaces. Phone calls are cheap so set up a couple of viewings don’t tell then ur not ready but ask price and at different terms. Start at 2-3 years with another 2-3 option at same rate. If you go in with the attitude of not making a profit then u won’t. Ur not starting a hobie so always go in 2 make money. With great risk comes great rewards. set ur prices average market. dont be high or low. U will need local health permits and u will need city permits. Check city hall and ur county health district.
