LLC, Corporation, …?
What is the best form of business formation in the following situation:
I live in the US. I plan to register company that will have several members/owners. 2-3 of those owners live abroad. How will the company pay taxes? Will I be responsible for all of the company’s revenue? Or my partners’ portion of the revenue is tax free because taxes shall be paid abroad?
Good questions, but not easily answered in this forum. There are a lot of variables in this decision. Basically, you need to know about the LEGAL affects and the TAX affects. These are the only 2 considerations.
Keep in mind that an LLC can be taxed as a partnership (a pass-through entity) or as a corporation, at the election of the owners. A corporation can be a pass-through entity if it elects S-Corp status. Therefore, almost any combination of taxationis possible.
