Business Plan Customer Analysis

Microsoft Excel Help…?
What is the value of a documentation worksheet in a multi-sheet workbook? What should be included in this sheet?
You work for the NBA (National Basketball Association) headquarters in New York City. You maintain an Excel List that contains all NBA players, their team, their position, their play-time percentage, shooting record last season, number of years in the NBA, and their salary. You have been asked to provide an analysis of NBA salary trends. Discuss at least three strategies you might use to analyze the data in your list and determine current trends in NBA salaries.
A friend is planning to start a new independent housecleaning business. She wishes to know how many customers she needs to service each week at $75 per house to make as much money as she is making at her current job ($43,000). Explain to your friend how to use Excel to provide this analysis.
Just had a quick check – yep, this is the UK forum ….
Didn’t you notice ? (or do you think UK contributors are likely to be kinder to those asking others to do their work for them ?)
Heres a few hints to help you along ..
NBA question – you need to factor in the rate of inflation, you need to compare ‘like with like’ (players salaries will show a natural upward trend during their careers – so look at eg. ‘first years’ .. also those in Major League clubs will be higher than Minor .. again compare like with like ..
Re: house cleaning business .. at first sight it a simple arithmetic problem ($43,000 / 52 / 75 = 11) .. however plainly we have ignored the fact that existing Salary is TAXED at a different rate to Business Profits .. also as an Employee she has almost ZERO expenses and allowances .. but as a Business operator she has (much) higher EXPENSES only some of which can be offset against allowances … (also she is likely to benefit from Health & Dental – and maybe even Pension contributions from her Employer .. whilst she must purchase her own Insurance as a housecleaner)
All of the above can be factored into a spreadsheet.
